LEVAPOR in OFF - GAS TREATMENT in BIO-TRICKLING FILTERS Polluted and malodorous gases and air can be purified efficiently and economically by biological treatment in • modern BIOTRICKLING FILTERS by • ADAPTED, SPECIAL MICROORGANISMS, IMMOBILISED, on • ADSORBING, POROUS LEVAPOR – carrier DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS Polluted air will be introduced at the lower section of the BTF by a fan and pressed through the filter bed made of LEVAPOR carrier, colonised by active special microorganisms, whereas the pollutants become adsorbed on the carrier surface and mineralised (degraded) by them. ADVANTAGES of BIO-TRICKLING FILTERS using LEVAPOR –carrier Efficient bio-trickling filter have to meet several requirements: fast adaptation of the microorganisms on hazardous pollutants (chlorinated organic pollutants, amines, mercaptanes, hydrogene sulphide, usw.), Neutralisation of biologically generated inorganic acids: HCl, HNO3 or H2SO4, supply of biomass with nutrients and trace elements, at low energy consumption. In a biotrickling filter fitted with LEVAPOR-carrier a fast and intensive mass transfer takes place, enabling an easy pH-regulation and alimentation of biomass with nutrients.
